Secure EDI Acquires Affiliated Network Services
As part of its continuing growth in North America, Charlotte, N.C.-based Secure EDI, a leading transactions integrator for the health and dental care industries, has acquired Affiliated Network Services (ANS), a Chicago-headquartered firm that provides insurance clearinghouse services for dental and health care providers.

The acquisition will accelerate Secure EDI’s growth in North America, while providing expanded service offerings for the ANS network of dentists, physicians and payers.
“During the past 10 years, ANS has developed a strong network of dental and healthcare providers who have achieved significant practice improvements as a result of ANS real-time solutions,” said Barry Byrd, president of Secure EDI. “The combination of our companies will provide ANS clients with even greater practice efficiencies through additional Secure EDI services, including on-line adjudication of claims. We also look forward to expanding services to payers that are part of the ANS network.”
Systems and services from ANS support real-time eligibility and benefit verification, electronic claims submission and claims status updates. Extensive data editing from ANS helps to assure accuracy in claim submissions, which reduces rejected claims and ultimately enhances provider cash flow. ANS service offerings are fully HIPAA compliant.
Secure EDI is a transactions integrator, creating electronic interfaces among healthcare and dental providers and payers. The company’s comprehensive suite of Web-based services increases efficiency and helps to reduce costs through real-time adjudication of claims, electronic funds transfers, on-line reconciliation and state-of-the- art data mining and informatics.
